Best Electric Brush

What we changed, and when

Every price check, every pick we swapped, and every mistake a reader caught. Dated, in plain language, oldest at the bottom.

Buying advice goes stale quietly. A brush leaves the shelves, a price doubles because the listing turned into a bundle, a brand refreshes a model and keeps the name. None of that shows up in an article unless somebody writes it down, so we write it down here.

Two rules we hold ourselves to. If a correction changes what we recommend, it goes in this list with a date. If a price on a page is older than the date at the top of that page, treat it as a snapshot rather than a quote, and click through for today’s number.

Recent changes

  1. Rechecked every brush and every head pack on Amazon US: more than 140 listings, recording seller, model number, first availability and price. The dated prices across the site all come from this pass.
  2. Added the brush head finder, the model number decoder, the two-minute timer and the filterable table of everything we track, after readers kept asking the same four questions by email.
  3. Added pages on technique, counterfeit heads, battery life, model numbers and dental work.
  4. Removed the Oral-B iO10, the Oral-B Vitality Pro and Philips One from the main shortlist. None had a current Amazon US listing on the day we checked. The pages stay up with a note, because people still search for them.
  5. Corrected the price we quote for the Oral-B iO Series 3. Amazon US now sells it as a Limited bundle with two extra heads and a travel case, which is why it reads higher than older reviews.
  6. Flagged that the Oral-B iO Series 9 listing had no main Amazon offer on the day of the check. Its price on the site is marked as an estimate until that changes.
  7. Split the Sonicare 9900 Prestige into two entries after Philips added the Next-Gen DiamondClean 9900 Prestige on August 31, 2026 at the same price. They look alike in a thumbnail and are not the same brush.
  8. Replaced the Suri 2.0 with the SURI Pro, model S2, which adds a pressure sensor, and added the cheaper SURI Core.
  9. Noted the July 2026 refresh of the Sonicare 4100, model HX4031, with three intensities. Amazon sells it beside the older HX3681 at the same price, so our pick is now the newer one.
  10. Dropped a claim that Quip’s Rev is a sonic brush. It oscillates. A reader who owns one pointed this out and was right.

What we are working on next

  • Pricing head multipacks at the larger sizes, because the per-head figures on the site use the pack Amazon showed first and bigger packs are often cheaper per head.
  • A second look at the budget sonic brushes, which change model names faster than anything else in the category.
  • Checking whether the Oral-B iO9 gets a main Amazon offer back, and replacing the estimated price with a real one when it does.

Found something wrong?

Tell us. Specific beats polite: the page, the sentence, and what the right answer is. Corrections that change a recommendation get added to the list above with the date, and we would rather hear it from you than leave it there. Our address is here.
